2011 NHL Draft Logo
The 2011 NHL Draft in being held in Minnesota. The Wild are the host team, and the Draft logo has a few ties to the team and the state. I love the trees and lake idea, and thank goodness they used green. Not bad, not bad at all.
I don't love the wordmark logo though...

3rd Jersey Concept
Goal Line Design sent in a new concept recently. It is a concept for an alternate jersey. The primary color is green with red and wheat trim. This jersey utilizes the more wild looking numbers and wordmark, something that has disappeared from the Wild's current look with all of the classic themes. Nice job with this one!

A Complete Set
The Wild currently have three completely different jersey designs. The home and road do not match at all. That isn't exactly a huge problem, but many have expressed interest in matching the home and road jerseys. Habsfan1 has done just that in this concept. He kept the home and the alternate as they are currently, but created a new road jersey to match the home. It uses the same design, only it is wheat. I think it is safe to say people want to see a wheat Wild jersey, myself included. Habsfan1 balanced the colors here, using red numbers and piping, and a red outline around the crest. Looks pretty good if you ask me...

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
We've seen what the Wild might look like as a soccer team. Today, Chapeeko shows us what they might look like as a baseball team. He used the colors and logos very well, and created a clean, classic look for the Wild. If the Wild ever did take the diamond, I would love to see them in something like this. Nice job Chapeeko! The whole set is awesome.

Backstrom Picks His New Mask
Back on July 8th, I told you about Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom having a contest. Fans could design Backstrom's new mask, with the winner being picked today. And the winner is...Peter Best!
From the website: "After days of wrestling with his very difficult decision, Backstrom went with Best's very detailed design. The mask shows the skylines of St. Paul on one side, and Minneapolis on the other, covered by the Wild's crest at the top. Wolves adorn each side, and the back features the Finnish flag, as well as the Wild's 10th anniversary mark."
I think it looks pretty good. Nice job Peter! I can't wait to see this on the ice.
Here was my original post: http://wildaboutdesign.blogspot.com/search/label/Goalie%20Mask
And here is the article from the Wild's website: http://wild.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=535593&navid=DL|MIN|home
As a bonus, here were the other finalist designs:
The 2012 Winter Classic...in Minnesota
That would be awesome. It is always fun to see concepts for the Wild in the Winter Classic, and toady we have a cool design from Goal Line Design. There is even a logo to go with the jersey concept. I think this is a good idea, and I would love to see it happen. Nice job on this!
We are happy to add Goal Line Design as a featured designer. Be sure to check out all of his concepts at his blog:

A Retro Concept
Here is a concept from myself, a retro jersey. It is inspired by the old Minnesota North Stars look, one of the team's earlier designs. I used the Wild's colors in the same striping design, and used the M from the 3rd jersey wordmark, representing the North Stars N. I tried to add a few other retro elements, such as the streaking star on the pants.
